I See Jesus
2 Corinthians 5:14 – 16, “For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.”
I’ve read these verses dozens of times but the Holy Spirit really has captured my heart with these verses. These verses can stop racism, sexism, bigotry, lack of identity, battle with pornography and self-hatred. Doesn’t matter the situation, but because of what Jesus did I regard no one according to the flesh. I now intentionally see everyone as I see Jesus. I LOVE verse 16, because the word no one in that verse makes you look at everyone, not just believers with the focal point of Jesus. Jesus being the focal point removes their ethnicity, their carnality, it removes your lack of identity because you see yourself as Jesus sees you, it begins to destroy the battle of pornography because you don’t look at brothers or sister in an objectifying matter, but now you see Jesus in them. These verses can strip your pride and allow you to walk in forgiveness. These verses can force you walk in a position of honor for all people because you don’t identify with their flesh anymore. You now see Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection when you see them. I challenge you to see Jesus in everyone you encounter, and ignite a change.
