Stress Is Spilling Over Into EVERYTHING

In the midst of holding it all together stress rears it’s ugly head. Stress can come from many of things and the scary part is when we allow it to effect every part our lives. When we are stressed, we are not functioning at our full potential. Some things will be left undone or completed halfheartedly. Balance is a definite must but when you’re stressing about bills, kids, spouses, work and many of other things, having great posture is an added task. Overthinking sets in, attitudes and dispositions change. Positivity takes a back seat and slowly negative thoughts, moods and etc sit in the passenger seat or even take the wheel. Stress that triggers acting out against others brings on regret once the dust has settled.

There are many of ways to combat stress. I honestly believe it starts with your mindset. When we stress about things we have no control over it tends to make us look and feel as if we are chasing our own tails. Why stress about things that you cannot change? Why worry about tomorrow if you don’t know what it will bring? We must prioritize and truly speak to our stressors. If we are stressed out with our kids then we have to change our approach. If it’s bills then we have to make sure we are taking care of what we can and allow God to handle the rest. Let’s not be afraid to ask for help because I know firsthand that pride can be a hinderance. I know that people, just like myself and especially men, do not like to ask people for help. Yet I am carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders and turning away people that have been placed in my life to help me. My pastor says that God is not going to come down and sit things right in front of you, he uses people; so let him! Allow them to be obedient to what God has asked of them as well.

One of my favorite phrases is “Keep speaking to those mountains in your life”, which comes from Mark 11:23-24(NIV) that says, “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Trouble will come, life gets hard, growing pass your insecurities and finding yourself can be difficult but during all of these hardships have faith. Speak to those negative things in your life and pray with belief that God will remove them. That your faith will activate the power God instilled in you to speak life into your situations. Don’t limit your authority over your life that comes from on high. Continue to walk in change for the better and allow your hardships to aide your transformation.

Have you ever seen someone fuss at their child in a manner that was way bigger than what the child had done? Have you laid witness to someone contemplating suicide? Have you ever yourself felt as if life won’t get any better for you and you make horrible decisions because of it? I can guarantee you that all of these situations involved a form of stress that consumed that person. My desire is to see all of us truly deal with our stress in ways that will allow us to be made free from them and in turn we free the people and situations we come in contact with. We are thinking more clearly, our vibrations are high, and we understand that some things are out of our control and we have to pray in faith. The stressors that we can control we must create a plan of attack and de-escalate the issues. Ultimately the goal is to avoid being consumed. If you are currently consumed, take your life back.
