God Sent For Me & Is Sending Me

Have you ever wondered why God would give you such tough battles, far fetched ideas and or huge assignments that you seem extremely unworthy of or down right inadequate? Last week I talked about the enemy being after your relationship with Christ and how it played a part in your purpose. Sunday God showed me something that blessed me.

God sometimes will speak to us in what may seem like a barren place. A place where it seems unfruitful and literally call us out. Think about it. Have you ever been at a job, a church, maybe even in a relationship and felt like

“Ok God I’m working just to get by”? Just enough to keep my head above water. Maybe even thought, “God I’ve been being faithful to this one thing or one person and I’m not really seeing progress”. These are all familiar places we find ourselves in and I’m here to tell you God has an answer to that! Some will say you better leave; find something else to do or God is saying your time is up. I’m here to say move when God tells you to move but first, bring your concern before God.

I was led to a story In the Bible about a man named Gideon; one whom God calls a mighty warrior. As he’s threshing wheat one day in a winepress, the conversation goes like this:

“When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”

“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”

The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

 (Judges 6:12-14)

Gideon was a curious one and honestly I love how adamant he was about making sure he was hearing God clearly. Often times we are shaken up when we have concerns about the place we are at. Let me tell you, where you are now isn’t always where you will end up. I will actually be bold enough to say to whose reading this, God has sent you! You can no longer complain about something God is building you up to fix. When you’re faced with a concern or complaint I encourage you to talk to God about it. I guarantee you God is concerned. God can very well be equipping you to do such a thing. We all at times struggle with God’s voice about certain matters, especially after long stints of what may seem to be nothing going on. If you read Judges 6 you would see Gideon was very much concerned with what exactly it was God was asking him to do. Gideon knew that God had allowed his people to be oppressed by the Middianites and so he would naturally have doubts, but what God asked him to do also seemed far fetched.

Oh God is still with us? Where is he now?

Where are his signs and wonders?

My clan is the weakest.

I am the least in my family.

Just a few complaints and concerns Gideon had about what God said he would do through him.

Little did he know God was in front of him saying, “The time is now and not only that, I’m going to use you for such a time as this.” Let’s just say Gideon does with 300 soldiers what seemed impossible.

Am I not sending you?

I encourage you to be patient and when God sends you...Cast your cares and Go!!
