Everything You Need Is In The House
I feel as if we are gaining momentum. We are at least to the point that we aren’t staring at the floor as much. We are catching glimpses of ourselves in windows and available mirrors; beginning to love what we see. We are working on bettering ourselves; realizing our faults and making true attempts to change our perspectives. This work is truly worth a smile followed with a sense of accomplishment, but don’t stop there. There is more within you than just worth, beauty, and now insight. There is more than enough in you to be successful in any attempts you make including building and maintaining healthy relationships. My pastor Gloria Ambeau says, “everything you need is in the house”. She was speaking of the body of Christ and the numerous talents we all possess that together make us a mighty force to be reckoned with. That each one of us can help one another succeed by using the God given talents we have. The same rings true about the attributes instilled from the beginning of life.
One of my favorite passages of scripture is Proverbs 31, which speaks about the “Virtuous Woman” and all of the amazing attributes she embodied. Not only was she worthy, hard working, had great wisdom and was valued; she also had great relationship with God. In just reading the text I do not doubt that she had a strong prayer life due to all of the work placed at her hands. I’m not referencing this scripture to say that women should be just like her, instead that we can learn from her industry, resourcefulness, integrity, success and fear of God. I truly believe that we possess the same qualities as the “virtuous woman” yet some of us have not or choose not to tap into them. Also the scripture speaks to men and how they should conduct themselves also the type of woman they should want at their sides. After all kings you are royalty and should desire the best with the ability to provide and be the best versions of yourselves as well.
Before making permanent life decisions in choosing a spouse or who you want to be connected to; first consider the things you have to offer. What can you bring to the table that reaches further than money, beauty, or physical connection? Everything you need such as: intelligence, skill, communication, prayer, talents, compassion, love, effective decision making, etc can all be found within you. We should explore these things whether we are considering entering into a relationship or not. We are made in the image of God, woman was created from a rib taken from man and God has every good thing within. This is the case so just meditate on all of the amazing works inside of yourself that are just waiting to be expressed. It starts with changing the way you think where your abilities are concerned, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:2 (NKJV). We won’t be the best at everything but we should know all of the things that we are great at. You don’t know the limitation of your creativity until you have attempted to create. Don’t limit yourself to the same box that the world attempts to put God in. He is beyond magnificent and because you are of him, then so are you...just tap in!
